Mike and Deb Smith are the proprietors of Weir Wood Reservoir Angling which is the company responsible for managing the angling and related facilities at the Reservoir. Mike was previously a member of Rookery Angling Club so we are delighted to be able to continue this long standing relationship.
Weir Wood is some 1.5-miles (2.4 km) long, covering approximately 280 acres and was built during the period from 1951 to 1954. A map of the venue together with the Rules that apply when fishing Weir Wood can be seen by clicking this LINK
The Reservoir is available to members, for coarse fishing, from dawn to dusk, 12 months of the year as there is no Closed Season at Weir Wood. Also, Rookery AC members can hire boats at discounted rates (subject to availability/time of the season).
As a fishery this venue holds Carp, Pike and Perch along with Bream and Roach. With Carp and Pike to over 20lb, Weir Wood Reservoir provides our Members with the opportunity to experience the big water scene and the chance to catch the monster of their dreams!
More details about the venue can be found by visiting the Weir Wood Reservoir Angling website at: http://www.weirwoodreservoirangling.co.uk
Please note for Rookery AC members there is a catch and release policy for Trout at all times.
